Tuesday, October 11, 2011, marks the first anniversary of #LeadershipChat hosted by Lisa Petrilli and Steve Woodruff. So, first of all, a big huge Happy Anniversary to you both! I have loved the topics and I love the brilliant community it has brought together. There a couple of key reasons why I participate often in the weekly chat.
Confirmation
Even though there is an enormous diversity of perspectives on any given topic it is amazing to see the confirmation it brings. Even as leaders we can go through questioning periods. I know I do. However, by participating in this chat it has helped bring confirmation to me as I reflect on my entire career. It has also brought confirmation to the path I am traveling now. Here I am as a VP for a relatively small company trying to tackle giants each day in one form or another. #Leadershipchat reminds me that I can do it!
Education
The topics are certainly never redundant and the conversation takes on a life of its own. Each week there is such a unique spin and perspectives on micro leadership topics. Whether we are dealing with ourselves or our team or just harnessing the power of overall emotional intelligence, the conversation is amazingly uplifting and inspiring. The uniqueness of each personas perspective lends towards the overall education we all receive.
A True Community
Even after the lights are out and the chat is over the community is still very much alive. I have so so much appreciation for everyone in the community. Our conversations have transcended above and beyond the one hour, we spend on Tuesday night. The conversation is just like the Energizer bunny. It keeps going and going. Yep, that’s leadership on steroids for sure! I have learned a lot from this super smart crew and I am very very proud to be part of this community. Lisa and Steve are true rock stars and have shown their true ability as leaders by bringing us all together for a solid roundtable chat.
Join the community on Tuesday at 8 pm EST and let’s celebrate together! Happy Anniversary #LeadershipChat!
Jonathan,
Thank you for such beautiful, kind and supportive words – they mean so very much to me. More than anything, I am thrilled to know that the chat has resonated with you and helped you in different ways as a leader. I feel the same way – the members of this community help me think bigger, and often differently, about leadership topics.
The Leadership Chat Community would not be the same without you. Neither would my blog, for that matter! Thank you for being such a special part of the community and for sharing your experiences, insights and even your fears with us. A toast to you, my friend!
Word honestly do little justice to how I feel about this community. Â You and Steve are special people and I look so much forward to our first live leadership chat! :)Â
Jonathan,
I’d love for that to take place in Atlanta! If you know of a company or event that might sponsor a Live LeadershipChat, please let us know! 🙂
I was talking about the three of us over dinner in Chicago but I like that idea! I will give it some serious thought!Â
Thanks for your very kind words, Jonathan!
Not a problem sir. Â Have a stellar day!Â
